Crayfish

Crayfish, also known as freshwater lobsters, are members of the decapod family that inhabit freshwater streams and rivers across the world. They are an important scavenger in their otherwise food-limited ecosystem and play a major role in the balance of aquatic environments, as well as in controlling various types of pollution. Crayfish are also a popular food source, providing protein and other essential vitamins and minerals. In some areas, crayfish are even harvested for commercial and recreational fishing. Additionally, they have extensive medical and research uses due to their relatively simple anatomy and low maintenance requirements.
