Vasculitis Epidemiology

Vasculitis is a group of diseases characterized by inflammation of blood vessels. Epidemiology of vasculitis is the study of all aspects of these diseases, including how often they occur, who is affected, risk factors, prognosis (outcome) and optimal treatment. By understanding the epidemiology of vasculitis, healthcare providers can identify risk factors early, provide appropriate treatment and improve the life of those affected by these diseases. Vasculitis epidemiology helps with prevention and control measures and the development of better treatments. New medications and treatments for vasculitis are continuously being developed to improve the treatment of these potentially serious diseases.
