Vasculitides

Vasculitides is a group of inflammatory disorders which are characterized by the inflammation of blood vessels. This group of disorders can range from mild to severe, and involve the small and large blood vessels of the body. The inflammation can lead to narrowing, weakening, or blockage of the vessel, and can result in reduced blood flow and organ damage. Vasculitides can be caused by autoimmune diseases, infections, or exposure to certain drugs or toxins. The prompt diagnosis and treatment of vasculitides is important to prevent organ damage and long-term complications. Treatment of vasculitides can include medications such as corticosteroids and immunosuppressants, and other therapies such as plasmapheresis and surgery.
