Vascular Permeability
Vascular permeability is the amount of fluid or solutes that can pass through the walls of blood vessels. It is an important factor in many physiological processes and disturbances in vascular permeability can lead to various diseases such as hypertension, stroke and cancer. Vascular permeability can be affected by various factors such as cell surface molecules, hormones, cytokines, and physical and chemical stimuli. Increasing vascular permeability can improve the delivery of drugs or nutrients to target tissues and can also be used to reduce inflammation and regulate body temperature. Proper vascular permeability is essential for proper physiological functioning of the body.
