Tumor Embolisation

Tumor embolisation is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to block the blood supply to tumors. It is a critical technique used in the treatment and management of cancer tumors. The process involves the injection of a catheter into the artery supplying the tumor, followed by the release of small particles that block the flow of blood to the tumor which eventually leads to its shrinkage or death. Tumor embolisation is used to prepare patients for surgery, reduce the pressure of the tumor on surrounding organs or nerves, and relieve symptoms such as pain or seizures. This procedure is minimally invasive, accurate and is associated with improved outcomes in cancer treatment.
