Small Vessel Vasculitis

Small vessel vasculitis is a type of inflammatory disorder that affects small blood vessels, such as the ones found in the kidneys, lungs, skin, and heart. It is characterized by symptoms including fever, fatigue, joint pain, and weight loss. The exact cause of small vessel vasculitis is unknown, though it is believed to be caused by an autoimmune response. Treatment for this disorder typically involves using corticosteroids or immunosuppressive drugs to inhibit the body’s inflammatory response. Without treatment, small vessel vasculitis can lead to serious complications, such as organ damage and, in rare cases, death. Early diagnosis and treatment are important in successfully managing the symptoms of this disorder and preventing further progression of the disease.
