Pathogenesis

Pathogenesis is the biological process by which diseases, illnesses or other medical conditions develop in living organisms. It is an important factor in understanding the cause of a disease, how it progresses and the ways by which it can be treated effectively. Pathogenesis is studied by both medical and biological sciences and is used in medical research and clinical practices. Pathogenesis is also used in agriculture, to help reduce the impact of pests and diseases on crop yields, and in biotechnology, where understanding of pathogenesis is used to develop new treatments and therapies.
