Microscopic Polyangiitis
Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the small blood vessels in the body, resulting in a variety of symptoms such as skin rashes, joint pain and swelling, fever, and weight loss. It is often difficult to diagnose due to its similarity to other diseases and its wide range of symptoms. Treatment for MPA typically includes immune-suppressing medications such as methotrexate or cyclophosphamide, as well as supportive care such as physical therapy and lifestyle changes. In some cases, surgery may be needed. MPA is a serious condition with potentially life-threatening complications, particularly for people with underlying conditions such as kidney or liver diseases. Early detection and treatment is vital for improving prognosis and preventing long-term damage.
