Beh?et's Disease
Behcet's disease is an inflammatory disorder that affects the blood vessels, most commonly found in the Middle East and Asia. Symptoms include sores in the mouth and genital area, joint pain and swelling, and eye inflammation. It is also known as Silk Road Disease due to its prevalence along the ancient trading route that traversed Asia. Treatment of the condition typically involves immune-suppressing medications and sometimes surgery. Without proper treatment, Behcet's disease can lead to long-term complications and even vision loss. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to preventing further complications.
