Arterial Disease
Arterial disease is a condition affecting the arteries which are the blood vessels that transport oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. It is a serious issue because it can reduce blood flow and oxygen levels to organs, putting them at risk of damage or even failure. Arterial disease can occur due to a number of risk factors, including high blood pressure, smoking, poor diet, or a sedentary lifestyle. It is usually diagnosed through tests such as angiography, echocardiography, or arteriography. Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medication, or, in some cases, surgery. If left untreated, arterial disease can lead to stroke, heart attack, or kidney failure. It is important to take proactive steps to reduce risk factors and manage the condition to keep the arteries healthy.
