Thrombectomy

Thrombectomy is a medical procedure in which a doctor removes a blood clot (thrombus) from a vein or artery in order to restore blood flow, reduce risk of stroke or stroke-related injury, and reduce the chances of complications related to the clot. It can be performed using various methods such as open surgery, minimally invasive or catheter-based therapies, or laser-based therapies. The procedure has been proven to be a safe and effective way to treat a variety of blood clot-related conditions, such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. Thrombectomy is associated with improved patient outcomes, including increased survival rates and better quality of life. It can also help reduce the risk of recurrent clot events.
