fascia The thoracolumbar fascia is a sheet of fibrous tissue located in the lower back region of the body. It is a strong and supportive structure which runs along the lower spine, connecting the muscles and bones of the trunk, abdomen and thoracic region. This fascia serves an important role in providing stability to the lower back and helps to limit excessive movement and protect the spinal column against forces acting on it. It is essential for normal functioning of the spine and movement of the lower limbs. Its importance in everyday activities such as walking, running, jumping and lifting are undeniable. In addition, it plays a critical role in back pain prevention and management.
