Thoracic Radiology

Thoracic Radiology is a branch of radiology that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions in the chest, including the lungs, heart, and associated structures. It utilizes imaging technologies such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine to visualise the internal structures and physiology of the thorax. Thoracic Radiology enables physicians to detect, diagnose, and manage a wide range of diseases, including pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, lung cancer, and heart diseases. It is a vital tool for providing accurate diagnosis and treatment for pulmonary, cardiothoracic, and other diseases and conditions in the chest.
