Pulmonary Diseases
Pulmonary diseases are conditions that affect the lungs and the airways leading to them. They range from mild conditions such as asthma to more serious conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer. These conditions can have a profound effect on an individual’s quality of life, as they can lead to increased breathlessness, decreased energy levels and mobility restrictions. The treatments for pulmonary diseases will vary depending on the cause and severity, and may include lifestyle changes, medications, oxygen therapy and surgery. Early detection and treatment is important for improved outcomes and quality of life.
