Minimally Invasive Surgery
Minimally invasive surgery, also known as laparoscopic or keyhole surgery, is a technique used in medical procedures that involves smaller incisions and minimal disruption of surrounding tissue. It is performed through a small camera, typically the size of a pen, which is inserted through a tiny incision in the patient’s body and then connected to a monitor. Through this camera, surgeons are able to accurately perform a wide range of procedures with greater precision and accuracy. Minimally invasive surgery offers many benefits compared to traditional open surgery such as reduced pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery, and better aesthetics. It is increasingly used in a variety of medical specialty areas and can be used to treat both acute and chronic conditions. Minimally invasive surgery has become a safer and more cost-effective alternative to open surgery, and has revolutionized the way in which many medical procedures are performed.
