Temporomandibular Joint Surgery
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Surgery is a specialized procedure that is used to address a wide range of disorders related to the connection between the lower jaw and the skull (the temporomandibular joint). These disorders can cause pain, poor jaw movement, and difficulty speaking or chewing. TMJ surgery is an effective treatment option when other methods, such as physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and medications have not been successful. This operation can involve joint reconstruction, repair of damaged cartilage, or implantation of a prosthetic joint, depending on the patient’s condition. The aim of TMJ surgery is to provide improved jaw function, reduced pain, and improved quality of life.
