Stomach Cancer Surgery
Stomach cancer surgery is a type of cancer treatment involving the surgical removal of all or part of the stomach. It is used to treat stomach cancer (gastric cancer), which can spread to other parts of the body if untreated, and is especially effective against early-stage tumours. This type of surgery is often used in conjunction with other treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, to maximise the effectiveness of the treatment. The goal of the surgery is to remove the cancer, along with nearby tissue to reduce the risk of the cancer returning. The procedure is considered safe and has a high success rate when performed by experienced surgeons. It is an important treatment option for people with stomach cancer and can greatly improve quality of life for many patients.
