Autopsy

An autopsy, also known as a postmortem examination or necropsy, is a medical procedure performed by a pathologist on the body of a deceased person. It is conducted in order to determine the cause of death and to gather evidence to be used in a criminal investigation. Autopsies are also used to evaluate and diagnose medical conditions that were originally undiagnosed in the living patient, or to study the effects of certain diseases on the human body. Autopsies are an important tool in advancing medical knowledge and providing insight into the cause of death.
