Structural Equation Model
A structural equation model (SEM) is a type of quantitative analysis used to test and evaluate relationships between variables. It is a popular tool for researchers and scientists because it allows one to explore the interrelationships between a set of variables, the strength of which can be verified through statistical analysis. SEM provides a powerful method for comparing existing theories, and can be used to test theories, gain new insights, draw conclusions and make predictions. SEM is particularly useful in the fields of education, psychology, economics, engineering and social sciences because of its ability to accommodate complex and multi-dimensional data. SEM can also be used to assess the impact of different treatments or interventions, and to identify underlying causes of observed phenomena.
