Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a type of medical treatment that uses the body's natural defense system, the immune system, to fight diseases. It works by strengthening and activating the body's immune system to better recognize and attack tumor cells. Immunotherapy can be used to treat several types of cancer and autoimmune diseases, and is an emerging treatment strategy for many other diseases. By targeting specific processes in the immune system, immunotherapy has the potential to be more effective, and cause fewer side effects, than conventional therapies.
