Corticosteroids

Corticosteroids are a type of hormone produced naturally in the body and also available as man-made medications. They are mainly used to reduce inflammation, treat conditions like asthma and allergies, as well as regulate immune system responses. They are powerful and have side effects, so they usually used as a short-term treatment. Corticosteroids can be used alone or in combination with other medications, and may be used as a preventive or a treatment option. Although they are typically used in medical settings, they can also be used in sporting contexts to enhance performance.
