Androgens

Androgens are hormones that play a key role in the development and maintenance of male characteristics in humans, as well as other living organisms. Androgens have crucial impacts on sexual development, muscle growth, bone health and sexual behaviour. They are also necessary for the proper functioning of the reproductive system, including the production of sperm and protection of the testes. Androgens are used in medical treatments for conditions such as hypogonadism, prostate cancer and other hormone-related illnesses. In addition, these hormones have also seen use in cosmetic and bodybuilding applications, helping athletes increase their muscle mass and in some cases, enhance their physical performance.
