Trichomonas Vaginalis

Trichomonas vaginalis is a single-celled, parasitic protozoan that can cause infection in both males and females. It is the most common non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) worldwide, and it can lead to significant health problems in both men and women if left untreated. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include itching, soreness, and a thin, foamy discharge. Treatment is available and involves the use of antibiotics. This infection is preventable by practicing safe sexual practices, such as using barrier protection.
