Testosterone
Testosterone is an anabolic steroid hormone found in mammals, reptiles, birds and other vertebrates. It is the primary male sex hormone and is responsible for the development of male reproductive organs, secondary sexual characteristics and muscle mass. Testosterone plays a key role in regulating libido, bone and red blood cell production, and is essential for health and well-being. It is also responsible for regulating fertility, cognitive and physical functions, as well as mood and behavior. Low levels of testosterone can cause a range of medical conditions, such as decreased libido and erectile dysfunction, depression, anxiety, and osteoporosis. Testosterone replacement therapy is the most common treatment option for low testosterone levels; it can help to restore sex drive, cognitive functions, and even improve mood.
