Sexual Desire Disorders
Sexual desire disorders are characterized by a decrease in interest and pleasure in sexual activities. This may be accompanied by a decreased sexual drive, with a lack of sexual fantasies, aversion to any type of sexual stimulation and difficulty in initiating or maintaining sexual activity. These disorders can have a major effect on an individual's mental health and quality of life, leading to significant distress and interpersonal conflicts. The causes of sexual desire disorders may be psychological, such as depression, anxiety, or relationship issues, or physical, such as hormonal imbalances or diseases. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment can help to address the underlying cause and improve symptoms. Treatment typically involves a combination of psychological and psychosocial interventions, such as sex education and therapy, or medications, such as hormone therapy or antidepressants.
