Sexual Addiction

Sexual addiction, also known as compulsive sexual behavior, is a disorder characterized by an uncontrollable preoccupation with sex that leads to significant distress or impairment in functioning. People with this disorder are unable to control their sexual impulses, which often results in serious consequences, such as troubled relationships and financial hardship. This condition can affect mental health, leading to issues like anxiety and depression, as well as impair physical functioning, by leading to health problems such as erectile dysfunction. Treatment options for sexual addiction include psychotherapy, group support, and medications, and the goal of treatment is to help individuals gain control over their behavior and focus on creating healthy, positive relationships.
