Rape and Sexual Assault
Rape and sexual assault are serious offenses, involving sexual violence and the violation of one’s sexual autonomy. They can have far-reaching physical, psychological, and social consequences on the victims, their families, and communities. Understanding the prevalence, causes, and consequences of these assaults is critical to prevent them and to highlight the need for legal, social and health services support to victims. Additionally, increasing public awareness and education around rape and sexual assault can help to challenge the social stigma and judgment these victims face and provide a more supportive environment.
