Hiv Drug Discovery
HIV drug discovery is the process of finding new drugs to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections. Currently, there is no cure for HIV but it can be managed effectively with antiretroviral therapy. The aim of HIV drug discovery is to develop new drugs that can be used to control and treat the virus. This is important for improving the quality of life of individuals living with HIV, reducing the spread of the virus, and ultimately finding a cure. New drug discovery efforts focus on targeting the virus’s lifecycle directly and modulating the host’s immune response to reduce the virus’s ability to replicate. HIV drug discovery is an active field of research and new promising drugs are being developed every year.
