Sociology of Knowledge
Sociology of knowledge is a type of sociological inquiry which looks at the complex relationship between knowledge and social structures. It studies how our understanding of the world is shaped by the norms, values and history of our societies. It is important to understand the broader social context of knowledge production, and how this context affects the way we understand and interpret knowledge. This understanding is helpful in formulating public policies and strategies which can promote social equality and justice. The sociology of knowledge can also be used to identify the power dynamics between different actors in society, and to understand how these dynamics shape the production and use of knowledge.
