Social Epidemiology
Social epidemiology is the study of the social and environmental factors that shape the distribution and determinants of health and disease in a population. It is a field of public health research and practice that aims to uncover the underlying causes and mechanisms by which socio-economic and demographic factors, such as income, education, race, and gender, shape health disparities. Social epidemiology is an important tool for understanding the complex interplay between social factors and health outcomes, informing the design of comprehensive interventions to reduce health disparities. It can also help inform policy decisions and public health programs to improve population health.
