Schema Therapy
Schema therapy is a comprehensive evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, developed from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, that is used to treat a variety of psychological disorders including personality disorders. It consists of a combination of cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal techniques that are used to help individuals re-frame their distorted thinking, recognize and challenge negative beliefs, and create lasting changes in emotional responses. Schema Therapy focuses on underlying core emotional needs and is effective in addressing long-term patterns of maladaptive behavior and thinking. Research has shown that Schema Therapy is an effective treatment for a range of psychological disorders and has been found to bring sustainable changes to improve mood and quality of life.
