Respect for Human Dignity
Respect for human dignity is the recognition and respect of the intrinsic worth of an individual. It is essential for building trust, enhancing empathy and understanding, and sustaining healthy relationships at home, in the workplace and throughout the community. Respect for human dignity is essential for living in a civil society, and is an essential element of any ethical or moral system. Respect for human dignity forms the foundation of rights-based approaches to human services delivery. Respect for human dignity is a necessary precondition for individual, group, and organisational success, and it is closely intertwined with the concepts of justice, fairness and equality.
