Humanistic Psychology

Humanistic psychology is a field of psychology that focuses on the study and understanding of the positive aspects of human behavior and experience. It is concerned with helping people to understand and accept themselves as unique, autonomous individuals and to develop their potential for personal growth and fulfillment. The goals of humanistic psychology are to promote a greater sense of well-being, self-acceptance, self-actualization and personal growth. Humanistic psychology has been found to be effective in helping people to cope with stressful life events, to increase their sense of purpose and meaning in life, and to reduce feelings of depression, anxiety and loneliness. Humanistic psychology also contributes to the understanding of mental health and can provide a holistic framework for the treatment of various mental and emotional disorders.
