Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy used to help people modify unhelpful patterns of thinking and/or behaviour. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are all connected, and that changing one can change the other two. CBT has been found to be effective in treating anxiety and depression, as well as helping with a range of other issues. It can be used to help reduce stress, improve self-esteem, manage anger and better cope with difficult life situations. People in therapy engage in activities such as goal setting, self-monitoring, problem-solving, and learning more adaptive thoughts. CBT is an increasingly popular form of psychological treatment due to its proven effectiveness and ability to be tailored to an individual's unique needs.
