Genomic Medicine

Genomic medicine is a medical specialty that integrates genomic technologies into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes. It is based on the understanding that each person’s genetic makeup influences their risk of developing particular diseases, as well as how they may respond to certain treatments. Through better knowledge of an individual’s genetic profile, genomic medicine can lead to more personalized and tailored health care. This can allow for earlier diagnosis and more effective preventive care, the ability to select treatments based on a person’s genetic makeup, and improved outcomes for patients overall. Additionally, advances in genomic medicine could potentially lead to the development of new and improved methods of disease management.
