Respiratory Medicine
Respiratory Medicine is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses or conditions involving the respiratory system. It includes the diagnosis, management and prevention of respiratory diseases and conditions such as pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It also covers conditions such as lung infections, sleep-disordered breathing, and airway obstructions. Respiratory Medicine helps to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by respiratory diseases and conditions, by promoting healthy respiratory functions and helping to reduce symptoms and prevent further progression of the diseases.
