Antidepressants

Antidepressants are a class of drug typically used to treat symptoms of clinical depression and other mental health conditions. Antidepressants work by increasing the levels of certain neurotransmitters (chemicals) in the brain, which are thought to be linked to mood and emotions. By increasing these neurotransmitters, antidepressants can help to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression. Antidepressants are also used to treat anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. They are often prescribed alongside other treatments such as psychotherapy, lifestyle changes and other medications, in order to help people manage their mental health better.
