Overview

Occupational burnout is a psychological syndrome that manifests as physical and emotional exhaustion as a result of prolonged stress and demands in the workplace. It is associated with reduced engagement, production and organizational commitment, and can lead to long-term changes in attitude and behavior. Burnout can negatively impact job performance and the quality of life of employees, and can result in lost productivity and costs for employers. As such, it is important for employers to take proactive measures to prevent and manage burnout in their organization.
