Biography:

Dr. Boukerrouche is a Professor and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Algiers University, Algeria. He graduated (MD) from the School of Medicine, University of Oran, Algeria in 1990. He completed his postgraduate training in Gastrointestinal Surgery at the same University in 1996. He became a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Algiers University in 2005. He performed multiple short trainings in vascular surgery, laparoscopic digestive surgery, and oncologic gastrointestinal surgery in London and Paris, from 2001 to 2010. He obtained his PhD degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Algiers University in 2013. In the same year, he was promoted to professor in gastrointestinal surgery. He has conducted and achieved research work including predictive factors of cervical leakage following colonic interposition for esophageal caustic stricture, and the role and efficacy of Computed tomography scan in detecting esophageal necrosis following digestive caustic injury in an emergency situation. His ongoing research interests include enteral feeding following esophageal reconstruction for cancer and enhanced recovery after surgery for liver and pancreatic surgery. He is the editorial board member and reviewer of several scientific journals. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed Biography: 2 / 7 articles. Currently, he is the chief of the department of general and oncologic digestive surgery, Rouiba hospital, Algiers University.
