Neuroscience

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system, which includes the structure and functioning of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves that underlie behavior and cognition. It is an interdisciplinary field that combines physics, mathematics, engineering, psychology, computer science, chemistry and biology to understand how neurons, networks and systems interact. The insights obtained from neuroscience research can be applied to improve understanding of conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, diagnose diseases, tailor therapies and develop better treatments and devices for individuals with brain injuries and neurological problems. It is also essential for understanding the brain basis of emotions, decision-making processes and social behavior, as well as for the development of artificial intelligence and robotics.
