Neuroradiology

Neuroradiology is the study of the anatomy and physiology of the brain, spine and head using diagnostic imaging tools such as MRI and CT scans. It is a crucial specialty used in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Neuroradiology has also been used to diagnose tumors of the brain and spine, as well as infections, congenital malformations, and degenerative diseases. This specialty has enabled physicians to detect issues, plan treatment options and follow up on patients’ progress during treatment. The use of neuroradiology has been instrumental in the advancement of medical care and improved the quality of life for those suffering from neurological disorders.
