Nerve Tissue
Nerve tissue is a type of tissue found in the body that is responsible for sending and receiving electrical signals. It plays a vital role in controlling and coordinating physical functions and responses. Nerve tissue is composed of two major types of cells: neurons and supporting cells such as glial cells. Neurons are the primary carriers of electrical signals, while glial cells provide structural and metabolic support to neurons and other cells in the nervous system. Nerve tissue is essential for proper functioning of the body, allowing us to sense, think, move, and communicate. Without it, our bodies would be unable to carry out basic tasks.
