Nerve Regeneration

Nerve regeneration is the process of repairing and restoring nerve cells and pathways and is a key component of neurological healing. It can involve the growth of new axons and/or the restoration of existing axons. Nerve regeneration is important to improve the quality of life of those who have suffered permanent nerve damage due to disease, injury, or trauma. Improved nerve regeneration can provide improved recovery from conditions such as spinal cord injury, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and nerve damage due to chemotherapy or aging. Research continues to explore potential therapies to aid in nerve regeneration in order to improve the quality of life for those affected by a wide range of neurological disorders.
