Morphometry
Morphometry is the branch of science that studies the shape and size of biological objects such as cells, tissues, and organs. It is used to measure the physical characteristics of living organisms and to compare the relative differences of species, among other applications. This branch of science has been used for clinical diagnostics and medical research. Morphometry is also used as a tool in epidemiology, as it provides measures of body composition which aid in identifying diseases such as obesity and dehydration. Additionally, morphometry has been employed in fields such as bioinformatics and computer vision, where it is used to develop algorithms to automate the process of analyzing shape or to segment images of anatomical objects.
