Premature Babies
Premature babies are infants born before 37 weeks gestation, often referred to as preterm or preemies. Premature babies have an increased risk of health complications, including respiratory and cardiovascular issues, developmental delays and learning disabilities. While advances in medical care have greatly improved the survival rate of premature babies, parents and providers are still encouraged to pay close attention to the health of these babies. Premature babies may require special equipment and treatments, such as oxygen therapy, nutrition supplements and phototherapy, to support their growth and development. In addition, assistance from a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals can help to manage the complexities of their care and ensure the best possible outcome. Premature babies can be a cause for concern, but with the right medical care, they can go on to thrive and lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
