Postnatal Care
Postnatal care refers to the care provided for a mother and her baby after the baby is born. It includes physical and psychological care for mother, baby and family. Postnatal care includes assessments of the mother’s physical health, breastfeeding guidance and support, and monitoring of the baby’s development. Postnatal care is important for both the mother and the baby, as it provides a period of monitoring and support that promotes wellness and allows early detection of potential health problems. It also helps the mother adjust to life with a new baby, and provides an opportunity for the family to establish a bond with the new baby. Postnatal care is essential for a healthy start for the baby and for the mother’s recovery from childbirth.
