Neonatal Palliative Care
Neonatal palliative care is an important branch of pediatric palliative care specifically developed for infants and newborns who are terminally ill. Neonatal palliative care is provided by a specially trained team of medical professionals and offers families emotional, physical and spiritual support throughout their baby's illness. It is focused on providing comfort and reducing suffering while offering support and compassionate care. The emphasis of neonatal palliative care is on providing relief from physical symptoms, emotional and psychological support, spiritual care and the opportunity to create treasured memories. The goal of neonatal palliative care is to give parents and family members a chance to connect with their baby and create lifelong memories.
