Neonatal Ethics

Neonatal ethics is a sub-field of medical ethics that focuses on ethical issues related to newborns and their parents. Neonatal ethics involves considering the rights of the newborn in areas such as decision-making on medical treatments, resuscitation, and organ donation. It also involves considering the rights of the parents to make decisions regarding their newborn's health and well-being. Neonatal ethics is important as it seeks to provide ethical guidance to medical professionals as well as parents in order to ensure the best outcomes for both newborns and their parents. It is also important to consider neonatal ethics in the context of wider societal values, such as protecting vulnerable individuals, adhering to cultural norms, and promoting equality.
