Motor Neuron Disease
Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a progressively worsening neurological disorder which affects the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. It causes the motor neurons to break down or become damaged, resulting in a weakening or complete paralysis of the muscles, loss of movement and eventually death. MND is a debilitating disease and can significantly reduce the quality of life for those who suffer from it. There is currently no cure for MND but research is ongoing to try and find a treatment. By raising awareness and increasing knowledge about MND, the medical community hopes to find a way to slow, prevent or even reverse this debilitating disease.
