Dimethyl Fumarate

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) is an organic compound used primarily as an antioxidant and antimicrobial agent. Its main use is in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where it is primarily used to preserve and increase the shelf life of products. It is also used in cosmetics and as a feed additive in animal foods. DMF is known to be a potent antioxidant, which means it can prevent the oxidation of other molecules, protecting them from damage caused by free radicals. It is also known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-mutagenic effects. DMF is known to be safe for human consumption and is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA.
